Alex Sobel is a Labour Member of Parliament in the UK, and serves as Shadow Minister on Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. He is involved in a number of All-Party Parliamentary Groups, including those focused on addressing antisemitism, promoting the interests of British Jews, and examining religion in the media. As a member of the Jewish Labour Movement, Alex has spoken publicly about the murder of his paternal great-grandfather, David Laks, by the Nazis in the Belzec death camp in Poland in 1942, and his family’s experiences of the expulsion from Poland in 1968. Alex Sobel is represented on the Board by Leopold Sobel.
